授業の主題
Knowledge of mathematics, data science, and AI, as well as data analysis skills, are essential skills in this knowledge-intensive society, and can be compared to reading, writing, and abacus. In this class, students will acquire these skills in a practical manner by using the e-Learning material "SIGNATE Cloud" and actually handling data.

Important Notes
The e-Learning material "SIGNATE Cloud" is only available in Japanese.

1: Acquire AI literacy
2: Acquire practical data analysis methods using EXCEL or Python
By achieving 1 and 2 above, the goal is to improve data analysis skills in research and to acquire the basic knowledge to utilize AI in research. These are "transferable" skills that can be used in the real world.
 
授業概要
Students will take the assessment test after learning the following courses in the curriculum prepared in advance on the "SIGNATE Cloud" e-Learning material.

[ Lectures ]
「AIリテラシーコース」 (10 hours)
Introduction to AI (AI structure and history, relationship with machine learning and AI case studies)
2. AI project theme selection method (ideas on theme selection to increase the probability of success of AI projects)
AI software development (flow of "AI software development," which is the axis of an AI project)
AI development phases and related laws (laws you need to pay attention to and specific measures to take when proceeding with an AI project)

[ Practice ] *Choose either No-Code or Python.
「ノーコードデータ分析コース」(41 hours)
This course is designed to teach data analysis without using programming, using tools such as Excel, and to acquire everything from basic tool usage to the knowledge required for data analysis.
Introduction to Python Data Analysis Course (17 hours) and Python Base Skills Course (26 hours)
This course is designed to develop basic skills in data analysis using Python. Acquire data processing and data reading comprehension skills, which are the basic skills for data analysis.

「データ処理スキル計測テスト」 (time limit 60 minutes)
「データ読解スキル計測テスト」 (time limit 45 minutes)
To objectively understand one's own skills by comparing one's own score and rank with the data of other SIGNATE Cloud users inside and outside the university.
* The test can only be taken once a month and cannot be interrupted, so it should be taken when there is enough time.

Credits will be granted to those who have achieved all of the following 1 to 3 in SIGNATE Cloud within the system availability period (see "Special Notes").
1. [Lecture] 100% progress in the 「AIリテラシーコース」
2. [Practical] 100% progress in either (a) or (b)
 (a) 「ノーコードデータ分析コース」
 (b) 「Pythonデータ分析入門コース」and「Pythonベーススキルコース」
3. [Competency Assessment] (a) and (b)
 (a) 「データ処理スキル計測テスト」
 (b) 「データ読解スキル計測テスト」
 
評価の割合
The assessment will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis, with "Pass" being given to those who meet the requirements indicated in the "Assessment Method" above.
Assessment "score" and "rank" will not affect the pass/fail result. Please use it as a guideline for your future studies.

Although the assigned work includes study time for preparation and review, there are many other materials available on the SIGNATE Cloud. It is recommended that students study more than just the assignments in the Course, Quest, and Gym (*This will not count toward the grade).

Course requirements differ for each quarter.

Q1 and Q3: Web registration is not available.
Priority is given to working students. Please apply through the questionnaire on the Student Information Service.

Master's and Master's degree programs (maximum enrollment 95 students each)
Doctoral and Doctoral Programs (maximum enrollment 45 students each)
If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, a lottery will be held on the system.
Date when the results of the lottery are made public (please check your own course timetable)

If there are vacancies after the lottery results are released, you can register for courses on a first-come, first-served basis.

[ Important ]
SIGNATE Cloud will send an "invitation email" to students who have registered for the course. The recipient will be the "forwarding email address" registered on the Acanthus Portal, so please be sure to register for it. Please note that those who do not receive the invitation email or who do not create a SIGNATE Cloud account by the deadline will have their registration cancelled for any reason.
The manual can be downloaded from the bottom of the syllabus.
SIGNATE Cloud will send an "invitation email" to students on the following dates
